Benjamin Rose began his training in Houston at Vitacca Ballet and The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. After spending three summers at Houston Ballet School, he joined the school’s full-time professional training program under the direction of Andrew Murphy. After graduating, Benjamin began his professional career as a trainee with Ballet West, where he performed roles including the Lead Male in George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht and The Bear in Willam Christensen’s The Nutcracker. While living in Utah, he also performed as a guest artist with the University of Utah and with companies around the country, including North Star Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, AVA Ballet Theatre, and Queen City Ballet. Benjamin later moved to Denver to join the studio company of Colorado Ballet, where he also performed with Feel the Movement, a contemporary dance project directed by Edgar Page. He then joined Ballet Des Moines under the direction of Serkan Usta before moving to San Antonio to dance with Ballet San Antonio under the direction of Sofiane Sylve. Benjamin was promoted to Soloist during his first season with the company and performed roles including Basilio in Don Quixote, the Nutcracker Prince in The Nutcracker, and Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Benjamin is currently entering his third season with Madison Ballet under the direction of Ja’ Malik. In addition to his performing career, he works as both a ballet teacher and ballroom dance coach, teaching and mentoring students in ballet and International Latin dance styles.
