Privacy Policy

North Star Dance Theatre respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect when you visit our website, the tools we use to understand our audience, and the choices available to you. We keep this deliberately plain, because a policy you cannot understand does not serve you well.

Website Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how people find and move through our website. It tells us things like which pages are visited most, how people arrive here, and whether they reach the information they were looking for. This helps us improve the site and plan our seasons around what our audience actually responds to. Google Analytics collects this information using cookies and similar technologies, and the data is processed by Google on our behalf. It includes details such as the pages you view, roughly where you are visiting from, and the type of device you are using. We use it to understand patterns across all our visitors, not to identify you personally.

Advertising and Your Privacy

North Star Dance Theatre advertises on Facebook and Instagram to reach audiences passionate about live dance and ballet. To measure whether that advertising is effective, we use the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., on this website. The Pixel records information about your visit including the pages you view and whether you click through to purchase tickets and transmits that information to Meta. If you are logged into Facebook or Instagram at the time, Meta may associate your visit with your account there.

We use this information for a narrow purpose: to understand which of our posts and advertisements bring people to our productions. We are a small company working with a limited marketing budget, and knowing what reaches our audience helps us spend it well. We do not sell your personal information and never will. We do not collect more than we need for the purpose described above, and we do not track your activity anywhere other than this website.

If you prefer that your activity not be used for advertising, you can adjust your settings in Meta's Ad Preferences center at facebook.com/adpreferences. Browser privacy settings and ad blockers will also prevent the Pixel from collecting information about your visit, and we take no issue with visitors who choose to use them.

Purchasing Tickets

Ticket purchases are handled by our partner, ThunderTix. The information you enter there - such as your name, email address, and payment details - is collected and handled by ThunderTix rather than by us, in accordance with their own privacy policy. We receive record of the sale, but we do not process or store your payment information ourselves.

Questions

If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, feel free to contact us, we would love to hear from you.
